Responsible Play

Last updated: 31 October 2026

Play for enjoyment

Poker should be a pastime, not a way to make money or solve money worries. If it stops being enjoyable, step away.

Healthy habits

  • Decide your time and spending limits before you start, and keep to them.
  • Only use money you can comfortably afford to lose.
  • Never try to win back losses.
  • Take regular breaks, and never play when upset, tired or drinking.
  • Keep track of how much time you spend.

Adults only, and only where it's legal

RPCDEN is for people aged 18 and over. Rules about Poker differ by country and region, so check the law where you live before you take part.

If it stops feeling in your control

Signs include hiding how much you play, borrowing to play, or feeling anxious when you can't. If this sounds familiar, talk to someone you trust or a qualified counsellor or health professional. Asking for help early makes a difference.
